Tenerife possesses a great commercial port, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which has a fundamental role not only to use its geostrategic situation with respect to the international panorama, but also to turn the isle into a first order logistic platform on the world-wide level. This port, which is in constant development concerning its traffic, infrastructures and installations, is shaped as one of the most important ones in Spain. Its goods movement and its cruisers must be highlighted, this last ambit places this port as one of the most important operators such as Airtours and Thomson.
In the south of Tenerife, 'Los Cristianos' port is located, which is specialised in the traffic among the isles.
Nowadays, there exists a project to build a new port in the south of the isle, in Granadilla. This new installation is thought to increase the insular port capaciousness.
These infrastructures guarantee a quick and efficacious communication with the rest of the Canary Isles, the port belonging to the Spanish state and with the main countries of the world.
